Sabrettes compete at Contest of Champions and bring home several wins. The JV team placed first in the contemporary and hip-hop divisions and second in the jazz division. The Varsity team placed second in the contemporary and jazz divisions. In the solo division, junior, Alexa Lorenzo, placed first earning a $1000.00 scholarship. Duet performances by Julissa Valle and Alexa Lorenzo placed 1st and 3rd with Briana Bazail.
St. Brendan High School students competed against high school students from across the nation in the 51st Annual North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN LI) from February 13th through the 16th. Founded in 1963, NAIMUN is the largest student-run Model United Nations conference in the world, with over 2000 delegates and 200 Georgetown University student staffers. Conference attendees, seniors Laura Quesada and Anthony Rossello, participated as delegates of the 1791 French National Assembly. Tasked with working through the turmoil of the French Revolution, the 70 member committee worked to craft a new constitution. Laura and Anthony teamed up to research and formulate political arguments and laws based on the actual French policies of the era. Their research skills and debate expertise helped them take home third place.
