Summer Reading

All students are responsible for summer reading and are to be prepared to take a test on the books read when they return to school in August.

Freshmen:
Alpha students will read FAREWELL TO MANZANAR by Jeanne Wakatsuki and James D. Houston and THE CHOSEN by Chaim Potok. Upon their return to school these students will take both an essay exam and an objective exam on these books during the first week of school.

Honor students will read JURASSIC PARK by Michael Crichton and ANIMAL FARM by George Orwell. Upon their return to school these students will take both an essay exam and an objective exam on these books during the first week of school.

The College Prep. freshmen which of course means all of the other freshmen will read STUCK IN NEUTRAL by Terry Trueman and the story, SHE SAID YES by Misty Bernall.

Sophomores:
The tenth grade Honor students will read FAHRENHEIT 451 by Ray Bradbury and HIROSHIMA by John Hersey.

The College prep. sophomores will read OF MICE AND MEN by John Steinbeck and THE BODY IN THE LIBRARY by Agatha Christie.

Juniors:

The Alpha AP Language students will read TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE by Mitch Albom and THE CATCHER IN THE RYE by J.D. Salinger.

The eleventh grade Honor students will read THE CLASS by Erich Segal and THE FIVE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN HEAVEN by Mitch Albom.

The College Prep. Juniors will read ALONG CAME A SPIDER by James Patterson and TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE by Mitch Albom.

Seniors:

The AP English students will read CRY, THE BELOVED COUNTRY by Alan Paton and THE GRAPES OF WRATH by John Steinbeck.

Senior Honor students will read REBECCA by Daphne Du Maurier and 1984 by George Orwell.

College Prep.Seniors will read REBECCA by Daphne Du Maurier and THEN THERE WERE NONE by Agatha Chrisite.

These books can be checked out of the library, or you may purchase them at any book store.
