Admission
Incoming 9th graders must take the Entrance Exam in January. Applicants for the 2008-09 year will sit for the exam on Saturday, January 31, 2009. An annual Open House is hosted on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 2 – 4:30 pm. Any family interested in enrolling a student at the high school is invited to our Open House. Though primarily oriented to incoming freshmen, any family interested in placing their child at St. Brendan High School is invited to tour the campus on that day, regardless of the grade level the student will be attending.
Applicants to the freshman class
The following steps must be taken in order for students to be considered for the freshman class:
- Submit an Entrance Exam registration form to the school’s Main Office with the $50 exam fee by January 23, 2009.
- Applicants are asked to attach copies of 6th, 7th and 8th grade standardized test scores as well as 6th, 7th grade report cards, and the most recent 8th grade report card to the entrance exam application.
- The student must sit for the entrance exam on Saturday, January 31, 2009 from 7:30 am to 11:30 am
Once the exams are processed and results evaluated, letters are mailed to parents on February 27, 2009 advising of applicant’s status.
All who are accepted must take placement tests on Saturday, March 7, 2009. On the day, the student must bring the following documents:
- Registration Form along with a $475 registration fee.
- Original proof of immunization forms 3040 and 680.
- A photocopy of the birth certificate.
- A letter from the student’s parish confirming the family’s registration at the parish.
Applicants to 10th - 12th grades
Students who wish to join us must first submit a Waiting List application with copies of transcripts from the school currently attending. A student applying must be in good standing in his or her transfer school and must have all the necessary credits to enter the grade for which he or she is applying.
Once a place is available in the grade level to which the student is applying, the student and his or her parents are called for an interview with the principal. At that time, proof of any other subsequent coursework completed must be submitted.
If accepted, official final transcripts from the transfer school must be presented at the time of registration.
