Alpha Program

This program is geared toward gifted students and is our most rigorous program academically. There is a meticulous selection process, with students beginning the process of admittance while still in middle school. Admission into the Alpha Program is merit-based, with invitations issued by St. Brendan’s Admissions Board. Criteria for admission includes, but it is not limited to, entrance examination scores, standardized test scores, report card grades, and principal recommendations from the student’s elementary or middle school.

Students in the Alpha Program pursue a curriculum that is centered on critical thinking, research and creativity, which are the keys to college admittance and launching successful careers in any field. This program strongly emphasizes Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement courses.

Alpha students also have access to an exceptional array of electives, extracurricular activities, research projects in universities, and executive internships in successful businesses. Alpha students are also invited to register for elective courses in our Career Academies and participate in some of their activities. Alpha students are encouraged to pursue summer programs with Ivy League universities and compete on a national level with other high-achieving students. Many of our students are accepted into the best universities. The Alpha Program also boasts a high percentage of AP Scholars and AP Scholars with distinction, as well as a number of National Merit Scholars and National Hispanic Scholars.
