Junior Ashley Prats hosts donation drive for the WOW Center!

The WOW Center is an Adult Day Training (ADT) center that currently supports and serves over 200 adults with developmental disabilities in Miami-Dade County who range in ages from 21 to 80. The purpose of all WOW Center services is to offer support, guidance and encouragement to adults with developmental disabilities regarding their personal choices, abilities, growth, and ultimately, independence.

Ashley has been volunteering at the WOW Center since she was in 6th grade, so she has developed a deep love and commitment for the center and its adults that it facilitates. Due to COVID-19, she has been unable to volunteer her time and instead decided to help organize a supplies drive to further the program's resources. She partnered with the WOW Center in the collection of donations to help support them during this difficult time. During yesterday's drive, the center received an outstanding response from the community! The drive consisted of about 385 cars and brought in 649 baskets totaling approximately $22,715 in supplies donations. This was such an impactful event moving the South Florida community in collaborating and assisting with such a worthy cause.
